This is Road Dog, affectionately known as Roadie. He’s been living at my house for the last two weeks, after my roommate found him beside Highway 17 in Francis Marion National Forest.
We already have four dogs at our house and can’t keep him any longer, so he’s going to the pound. That scares me, because “pound” is more like “death row” in these pet-overpopulated days in Charleston (future feature story?)
He’s had blood work done and is disease-free, and I’ll throw in a coupon for a free neuter from the SPCA. He’s a lapdog and loves attention. And he’s got a cherry-eye that the vet says is simple to fix.
If you’re interested in fostering him for awhile, or want to consider adopting him, email me at stratton@charlestoncitypaper.com. He’s with us until Wednesday.

Please take the beagle to Pet Helpers at 1430 Folly Rd Charleston (on the way to Folly Beach) Phone number 795-1110. They are good people and it is a no kill sheltere
Please dont take him to the pound! I would love to have him. I could fly him here if we can set up something
Has this found its way to a beagle loving webpage?
We’ve still got him. Flyers up around town. He’s not going on any airplane rides. And if he goes to a shelter, it’ll be Pet Helpers.
Both of our current dogs came from the pound in Goose Creek, where my roommate’s vet tech school gets their animals. If he goes there it’s only so she can keep a watchful eye.
We won’t let him be euthanized.
But he could really use a home.
Yes- this made it’s way to IBARC (internet beagle aficianado club). Please let me know how to contact you about this beagle boy. We may be able to take or foster.
